We strongly recommend using these grills with Binchotan charcoal, as it burns long with limited smoke and can reach high temperatures (up to 300°F+), making it ideal for quick sears. The food being grilled is inches away from the heat source. As juices drip down into the coals, it evaporates into a smoky cloud of deliciousness that infuses with the food on the grill. The high temperature is perfect for creating crisp caramelized skins and crusts. The combination of Binchotan charcoal with Kasai Grill’s superior heat retention properties make them ideal companions.

These grills are built with sustainability in mind. The sturdy stainless-steel frames are designed to last, unlike other Konro grills that are typically built from lesser material. The tiles have the unique advantage of being repurposed. Once the tiles are blackened or past their life cycle they can easily be replaced. The old tiles can be crushed and used in plant or garden care as the natural material they consist of acts as an effective conditioner which helps loosen compacted soil, provides drainage, and can hold three times its weight in water.
